The 1st blogger assignment

When I first picked this project out I choose it not just because it is a well debated topic but also because it has a long and lively history. The topic of race has plauged the masses with constant debating for hundereds upon hundreds of years never ceaseing, never cooling, never letting go the differences that we all have for each single person of humanity is different and what people fear most is that which is different.

I found that most of the information was relatively easy to find when using the internet but that is probubly one of the easyer ways of obtaining information. Using the internet i managed to find a book based on racism during that era,

http://books.google.com/books/about/Darwinism_and_racism_in_America_1870_192.html?id=M5k4OAAACAAJ

then I moved on to getting the majority of the rest of the sources from the web and alot of articals posted about there. I found that some of the larger booms of racism happened in the era of 1870 to 1920, one of the larger happenings was the KKK which began In the 1870's with the first clan and continued for many decades after, following the first came the second clan in 1915. These clans were founded for one purpose and that is to discriminate against not only blacks bu asians, catholics, and communists.

their acts would usually end up with wild and large beatings and violence that usually resulted in one or more deaths. And their racism is ledgendary to this day.

Much of america during this time both before and during martin luther king jr. was drenched in racism and bigotry. During this time salvery was still just beginning to crumble in the south after the civil war had endded and large amounts of african americans were entering society together with white people which as you can imagine didnt go to smoothly at first. Large amounts of crimes were commited and most of the people that were accused were normally blacks, but of how many of those black were accually involved is uncertain. most people just accused them for everything and when you get treated as somthing for long enough you eventually become it. Many riots were held by blacks asking for equal rights and after a few more decades with the coming of martian luther King Jr. the got it.

Many lynchings were also help at this time by some local groups but mostly by the KKK groups in the area. Many were killed by these members of which were made up of mostly southern plantation owners and people who had falling outs because of the loss of their side in the civil war.

And that is much of what I learned and will be putting in my report.
