ResProj paper ideas

1- "In both era’s the topic of race for the most part has stayed the same, that the African Americans wanted equality, however the way they fought for their cause differed from the two times in history. Both Ida B. Wells and the freedom riders had similar thoughts and ideas but how they acted on these ideas was completely different (Benjamin)."

2- One of the main differences in the two era's was how they acted against violence with non-violence, any normal person that is faced with death will run away or defend himself/herself but the freedom riders would not fight back. This made a huge difference when it came to right and wrong because who would think of the people not fighting back to be the wrong in their ideas.

1. After reading these quotes from my 2Syn paper what do you think about these topic ideas?
2. Do you understand what I am getting at?
3. Which one sounds best to use for the 3ResProj? Why?

Integrating Sources 2 examples

Example #1-

In my paper I stated how wells quotes, "If my life makes a difference in how people see lynching, if only by a small amount, then I would gladly give it up."

Example #2

I also state how Arsenault tells, "I don't know if the men that were sent to protect them would do so or feed them to the wolves."

These sources tell of the harshness that is prominent throughout the 2 essays and it will have a bigger impact, that is why I choose these for my report.

After reading this what do you think my paper is about?

In both the era's, when Ida B. Wells took up her fight in getting her ideas and opinions about race where she told the public just how unjust the justice system was and how badly her fellow African Americans were treated as well as when the freedom riders rode in a bus into the sourthern states in order to prove that both whites and blacks could get along as equals. In both times the topic of race for the most part has stayed the same. However the way they fought for their cause differred from the two times in history. Both Ida B. Wells and the freedom riders had simular thoughts and ideas but how they acted on these ideas was completely different.

What is a synthesis?

When beginning the process of synthesis there are a few things to consider before even starting. First you need to know what 2 writings you are going to talk about. Then you must consider in what way they are linked, for a good synthesis paper has a good connection between the topic in each paper. Look for similarities and/or differences between the two and report your findings. They call this process synthesis because synthesis means "Combine" into a new substance. To write this paper your must first understand both of the reports you are writing about and link them in some way inside of your paper.

In my paper we are discussing the topic of race, I am comparing the racism during Ida B. Wells time and the racism found during the Freedom Riders era. During Ida B. Wells era the black community was in constant fear of the white racists, not only found among the civilians but also found in the police, government and even in most colleges in america. In secret the African Americans would write their stories of hate and oppression in the shadows wishing that one day there would be equality and peace for everyone. But during the era of the Freedom Riders the racism in America had been boggled down to the southern states. A combination of whites and blacks rode buses into the southern states in an attempt to show the southern people that they were equal and wanted peace, much different in the approach then writing stories in the shadows that the old black community took. But then again the old ways laid down a foundation for the new ways.
